Beaches and Resorts
China has a sea area of 3 million square kilometres, and coastline of over 18,000 kilometres. Though China is not the best destination to spend your beach holiday, but recently many seaside cities have made full use of their natural conditions and developed tourist activities. Some of the following beaches and resorts are recommended:
Beihai Silver Beach
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, City: Beihai
Beihai is located on the Beibu Gulf in the southern part of Guangxi province, on the southwestern coast of China. Beihai Silver Beach is designated as one of the five best retreats in China. Beihai Silver Beach State Holiday Resort is one of the natural scenic spots and cultural relics.
Beidaihe Beach Resort
Hebei Province, Nearest City: Qinghuangdao
Beidaihe is the summer resort for Chinese leaders. It is in the harbor city of Qinhuangdao, a beautiful tourist seaside resort along the seashore of Pacific Ocean.The Beidaihe Beach Resort stretches 10km east to west from the Yinjiao Pavillion to the mouth of the Daihe. In Changli, southwest of Beidaihe, there are also plans to convert a local bathing beach into another resort.
Dalian Beach
Liaoning Province, City: Dalian
The Dalian beach is a tourist attraction and summer resort of national caliber. Stretching 31 kilometers, the beach has many scenic spots, such as the Wooden-Club lsle, Fujiazhuang, Mt. Baiyun, Xinghai Park, and Black-Rock Reefs.
Huiquan Beach
Shandong Province, City: Qingdao
Qingdao is famous for its beaches, total six and named Huiquan, Taipingwan, Zhanshan, Zhanqiao, Sifang and Cangkou respectively. Among them, Huiquan Beach (also the No. 1 bathing beach) is considered the best and is popular among tourists.
Jinshitan National Resort
Liaoning Province, City: Dalian
Situated along the banks of the Yellow Sea, the resort commands a breathtaking landscape including mountains covered with lush vegetation, reefs in various shapes, a seaside with soft clean sand, and rippling water in the blue sea. The resort has a bathing beach and an 18-hole golf course.
Shilaoren Beach Resort
Shandong Province, Nearest City: Qingdao
Shilaoren Beach is only five kilometres from Qingdao. In the sea stands an old-man-shaped reef, hence the name of the resort. The resort is situated in the east of Qingdao urban area and covers 2,368 acres. It offers an all - inclusive vacation experience with its idyllic beaches, amusement park, golf courses, gourmet dining, bars, fitness centers and choice lodging facilities. Xiaomeisha Beach
Guangdong Province, Nearest City: Shenzhen
Xiaomeisha Beach Resort Centre is one of Shenzhen's ten famous resorts. It is a natural seaside resort, 1,000-metre-long, on the northeast of the city, 10 kilometres far from shatoujiao town. Many water activities such as sailing, jet skiing, sea kayaking and diving.
Yalong Bay
Hainan Island, Nearest City: Sanya
Situated in the center of the Yalong Bay Tourist Resort, the National Holiday Zone of Yalong Bay has an area of about 18.6 square kilometres. It is one coast tourist resort at the very southern and of China, which is located in the southeast of Sanya City. Surrounded by mountains in the east, west and north, with a 22-kilometre-long coastline.
