Arrive in Paro via a spectacular Himalayan flight and complete arrival formalities before meeting your guide. Transfer by road to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, enjoying scenic valley views along the way. In the late afternoon, take a gentle walk through the city, visiting the Memorial Chorten and the lively Clock Tower Square. Continue to Tashichho Dzong, the impressive monastery-fortress that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government and royal offices.Overnight in Thimphu.

Hotel breakfast.Explore the cultural highlights of Thimphu with visits to the National Institute for Zorig Chusum and the Takin Preserve Center. Continue to the Buddha Dordenma statue for panoramic views over the city, followed by time at the Traditional Craft Market and a local handmade paper factory. day 3: thimphu → punakha (b, L&D)
Hotel breakfast and check-out.Depart Thimphu and drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (approx. 2.3 hrs), with Himalayan views along the way, weather permitting. Stop at the Dochula Chorten before continuing to Punakha Dzong, dramatically set at the confluence of two rivers.
